Systems Administrator

Seeking a Systems Administrator who will, under direction, operate the client’s telecommunications systems and maintain message flow, researches, and analyze telecommunications activity associated within one or more technical areas in the telecommunications center. As a Systems Administrator, you will analyze traffic reports and diagnostic reports to determine network logic and malfunction trends, recommend improvements to enhance network performance trends and operate Enterprise Message System (EMS) on a 12-hour shift work schedule. Additionally, you will provide critical services in support of the management, monitoring, and operation of a 24-hour support environment, including holidays and weekends.

Mandatory Skills

• Must possess the appropriate skills and experience to operate and monitor message processing systems • Ability to follow the program's configuration management, Project Management Framework (PMF), and quality assurance (QA) processes, which includes coordination processes, effective communication, adapting as a team player in the program, and keeping all program documents up-to-date • Former client communications officer, preferably with advanced level message systems experience with the client's legacy systems • Experience with message processing systems • Experience with the following USG message formats: o ACP127 o ACP127S o ACP127M (JANAP128) o DOI o DOI Special o SOCOMM Data Format o INTRA-Office Data Format (IDF) o SOCOMM Narrative Format o SOCOMM Narrative Special Format • Knowledge of Routing Indicators • A good understanding of world geography • An interest in current events • Excellent interpersonal skills • Experience with Message Relay System (MRS) and Message Handling Facility (MHF) • Experience with Automated Communications Terminating / Originating Replacement (ACTOR) • Experience with Enterprise Messaging Services (EMS) • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite • Experience with Lotus Notes databases and e-mail • Ability to work closely with other communications professionals and the customer’s community NOTE: This position requires working on 12-hour rotating night shifts (e.g., 2 nights on, 2 nights off, 3 nights on, 2 nights off, 2 nights on, 3 nights off)

Desired Skills

• Working experience in a secure telecommunications network environment • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux OSs administration, such as restarting servers and services • Working knowledge of Lotus Notes, including Domino Server and Domino Admin • Experience with after action reports, SitReps, and SPOT reports • Working knowledge of Tivoli software
