Systems Engineer

***OPEN TO ALL SKILL LEVELS*** This position serves as the lead for all maintaining the current and planned Sponsor Data Standards Enterprise Baseline (ESB), which includes review and analysis of new and emerging standards, evaluation of any tradeoffs or impacts with current implementations, as well as communication of changes to ESB to Sponsor stakeholders. Mission Data refers to information collected, processed, and/or analyzed by the Sponsor in fulfillment of its primary mission; in particular, it refers to the electronic form of the data. The customer organization defines and maintains the data architecture and structures, storage and usage patterns, and policies in order to improve data discovery, data sharing, and system interoperability. The incumbent will function both as a technical expert and a project manager as well coordinating the work of others involved. • Lead all activities associated with the administration of the Mission Data Architecture • Serve as Executive Officer to the chair of governance boards associated with Mission Data Architecture • Oversee and/or execute the processing of all issues related to Mission Data Architecture • Research and negotiate resolution of the most complex issues • Develop and implement workflows as needed • Hold the primary responsibility for the conception, design, and maintenance, and configuration of the artifacts produced. • Perform senior expert level work providing expert input and advice on the types of artifacts to be used, the design of such artifacts (e.g., granularity and notation, etc.). • Expert, requiring broad understanding of overall issues and dependencies to provide sound judgment, tactical and strategic advice, and sometimes challenging mediation. • Is able to work with some supervision and understands when to ask for support and promotes an open flow of information so that all are well informed • Provide support to Access Control Administration activity as priorities dictate

Systems Engineer

The sponsor is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer (SE) to assist with design, development, and deployments to an existing high-profile enterprise API Portal. This individual will bring new ideas and perspectives to an already talented development/engineering team in an agile DevOps environment. Responsibilities include: - New development as well as O&M to existing API Portal - Support and enhancement of DevOps infrastructure - Development of scripts for DevOps-related activities - Deployment and maintenance of both AWS and non-AWS virtual machines - Customization and configuration of COTS products - Customization and configuration of custom web container artifacts - Coordination with senior managers, technical personnel, partners, and customers The sponsor is seeking a strong, multi-disciplinary (well-rounded) engineer who has skillsets in a variety of IT technologies. The candidate will work in an integrated test-driven development environment that is highly reliant on DevOps, AWS, and related emerging technologies. The candidate will be expected to provide independent working ability as well as teamwork skills to provide resilient and creative solutions. Team members are expected to develop new functionality as well as provide recommendations/upgrades to existing systems. Systems Engineer

(T-2446) System Engineer candidate will provide end-to-end system lifecycle support for all systems within the PKI Services Branch. Must have an extensive background in PKI Technology including OCSP, Secure Hash Algorithm 1 & 2 (SHA1 & SHA2), Hardware Security Module (HSM), system engineering, systems architecture, application deployment, Windows OS and Linux OS. Responsibilities include: • Identify system integrity issues and solutions for the full system life cycle from concept to disposal. • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. • Ensure designs are compatible with the architecture and allocates requirements to segments. Tasks • Responsible for all programmatics associated with the mobility project. • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer·or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. • Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer-related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems. • Test, maintain, and monitor programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of programs and systems. • Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles. • Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve workflow. T-2186 The principal function of the System Engineer position is to provide a high quality, secure, and resilient hosting platform that supports the organization’s operational and business needs. Primary responsibilities include providing premier Tier 4 engineering support for the global enterprise hosting platform infrastructure. Specific tasks include: • Review/analyze enterprise hosting platform infrastructure disaster recover needs and related computer system capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially-available software. • Identify virtualization requirements, designs, and test strategies for new platforms with enterprise-wide application. • Conduct testing and integration of automation scripts and workflows needed to auto-build designed platforms, computer programs, and systems. • Identify performance/system integrity issues and solutions for the full system life cycle from concept to disposal. • Provide premier Tier 4 hosting platform engineering/life cycle support (advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics) for assigned incident/trouble tickets, service requests, and change requests submitted by internal/external customers. • Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as platform malfunctions and program problems. Answer questions/resolve hosting platform malfunctions/problems for clients in person, via telephone, or using automated tools with remote access to system being evaluated. • Understand and implement established enterprise infrastructure engineering technical/workflow procedures and the change management process. • Prepare technical engineering documentation, including both system-level and user-level documentation. • Develop engineering solutions, automated when feasible, that may be transitioned to an O&M organization. • Other duties as assigned.
