************* OPEN TO ALL SKILL LEVELS********** This is a hands-on position that is in need of a self-motivated person to serve as the web applications developer for the Sponsor. The successful candidate is expected to be ready to lead in the development of various front end components of the Sponsor's platform. While developing these key areas of the platform, the candidate will collaborate with mission partners along with software engineers to develop generalized and tailored user interfaces for an optimized user experience. The candidate will work collaboratively with Data Scientists and other developers internal to the sponsor and external partners to complete deliverables within specified timeframes. The developer will play a key role in mission capability development activities throughout the organization that will impact the platform. The successful candidate will leverage services developed by data scientists within the Sponsor Program. The successful candidate is expected to lead web applications development efforts, and work with others on the team to produce integrated tools and products for mission partners. The incumbent will work with aspects of natural language processing and machine learning data processing technologies which are a significant component to the overall architecture to the platform to produce detailed analysis capabilities. The Developer will report to the Staff Officer in Charge and provide a weekly update for development tasks. The web applications developer will mitigate, manage and ensure requirements are met throughout the development life-cycle and manage scope creep by adhering to the Sponsor process and engaging the Staff Officer when needed. The successful candidate will be one of the key development experts and will participate in a wide variety of internal and external customer events to advance the analytic tradecraft, improve the office’s tool capabilities, and stay current on the latest trends involving data. Key duties as the Web Applications Developer: • Participate in mission engagement sessions to assess and provide inputs for development and transition of capability. • Plan and implement testing activities to include test plans, unit testing, integration testing, configuration management and UAT technical support. • Other development related duties as they occur.

***** OPEN TO ALL SKILL LEVELS***** The customer requires a Programmer to support projects initiated and maintained by Data Scientists. Data scientists combine applied mathematics, programming skills, analytical techniques, and data to provide unique insights for decision makers. Each individual typically only has depth in one of these areas, so effective data science efforts require teaming of complementary skill sets. The customer environment is fast-paced and the Programmer will be expected to support multiple projects and collection efforts. Specific duties, priorities, and workload will be established by the customer, however, the Programmer is expected to take initiative and provide innovative solutions to technical problems to the customer on a regular basis. The Programmer should be knowledgeable of technologies/environments including Ruby on Rails (RoR), Python, PERL, J2EE, .net, Linux, Java, JavaScript, MySQL, iOS, relational and non-relational databases including Oracle, Hadoop, and HBase. The Programmer will use and develop software and tools to effectively exploit “big data” and emerging media types within a cloud-based environment. The primary focus of projects will be on “big data” collection, storage, management, and analysis. The Programmer will participate as a team member with other customers and will support configuration management and other programmatic activities (updates to procedures, logging of activities, and use of Subversion configuration control software) as required. The Programmer will perform some database and web activities, specifically as they relate to “big data” issues. The customer will require monthly activity reports from the Programmer.
