Software Developer (Systems Software)

The Sponsor is seeking a motivated expert software developer. The candidate will be involved in full life cycle design, development and maintenance of an existing web-based budget application using Java, JavaScript, Apache, SQL, Hibernate, Spring, XML and HTML. The candidate is responsible for the servers, web security, and connectivity as well as the day-to-day system operations. The candidate will design and implement new features as per Change Request (CRs) and troubleshoot and implement fixes as per Discrepancy Reports. The Developer will lead the team in analyzing and weighting the scope of any change. The candidate will lead the system upgrade efforts using emerging technologies and optimize application performance in an Agile Development Team environment. The candidate will advise, mentor, train or assist developers at other skill levels to ensure timely delivery of high quality software. The candidate will also provide customer support when required.

The customer seeks a hands on experienced UI/UX developer who enjoys working in a very fast paced, innovative, mission critical environment with huge impact. The developer should have great team dynamics, initiative and be able to come up with innovative solutions to solve difficult technical challenges. The developer should be able and willing to learn new technologies. The developer should be able to keep up with the fast mission pace when doing development work. A developer who requires a very structured environment will not enjoy working here. The candidate must be a self-starter. The division uses 2 or 4 week agile sprint planning cycles. All are encouraged to think outside the box. High performing developers at at ALL skills levels will be considered. The office provides Biometric and Identity Support with enterprise search and analytic applications. Team members work in a multitasking, quick-paced, dynamic, process-improvement environment that requires experience with the principles of biometric technology, large-scale (Terabytes) database and application development, large-scale file manipulation, data modeling, data mapping, data testing, data quality, and documentation preparation. The division directly supports data scientists and analysts by designing and engineering systems to meet exponential increases in digital data.
